Our beginnings
We started with designing and 3d printing custom mechanical keyboards, and established P3D LLC in late 2019, and continue to operate P3Dstore for our custom keyboard business. We quickly evolved as we scaled up to 9 printers, including 4 full custom large format printers. While we sadly retired from bulk 3d printing, we instead expanded into a multitude of other services including Cerakote Application, Laser Cutting and Engraving, CNC Milling and Routing, and more. We quickly grew to 3 full time employees, and continue to focus on providing fast, quality services.
Establishing Minnekote
In June of 2022 we moved from Rochester, Minnesota up north to Brainerd, Minnesota. Our products have always, and will continue to offer maximum customization, and we took advantage of the move to a larger shop to gain more capacity for our custom products.
In October 2022, we established Minnekote to focus on non keyboard specific products. Minnekote as a name is the combination of Minnesota and Cerakote, and combines our Minnesota roots with our focus on offering exceptional Cerakote application services.
Cerakote, pronounced
(Sarah-Coat), is a thin ceramic based coating that can be applied to metals,
plastics, polymers, wood, and more.
Cerakote is a thin performance coating that allows for better compatibility
with tight tolerances on machined parts. While Cerakote is most popular for
guns for this reason, it is also super useful as a performance coating for
everyday items that you want protected from the elements or day to day
handling.
Cerakote also excels because it offers much more color customization than
powder coat, e-coat, or anodization offer.
We operate a commercial, Epilog Fusion Pro48 CO2 Laser that offers exceptional cutting and engraving of a multitude of materials with huge 3'x4' cutting area. This allows us to provide maximum customization of projects as well as very competitive bulk pricing.
We operate a commercial, Tormach 24R CNC router with a tool changer that allows us the flexibility to mill and route materials that can't be done on the laser with a large 2x4' cutting area. This allows us to provide maximum customization of projects as well as very competitive bulk pricing.
